Empty Bowls

At the TACA Craft Fairs, held twice yearly, fair patrons are invited to take part in the Empty Bowl activity, creating a clay pot which will later be fired and added to the LifeWorks Bowl Bank, to be used in Empty Bowls projects across the sate. Creating a bowl by hand helps to provide a lasting effect on both awareness and the fight against hunger in Middle Tennessee. The state is currently ranked 10th in the nation in hunger, and revenue raised through state-wide Empty Bowls projects go to organizations dedicated to alleviating hunger. TACA artists have been long-time supporters of the Empty Bowls project and greatly appreciate the opportunity it affords them to give back to their communities.

Artists who have participated in the TACA/LifeWorks tent include:

Constance Beck - Weaving
Lolly Durant - Hand built clay / community bowl making project
Donna Rizzo - Wheel thrown clay, hand built alternations
Tennessee Association of Woodturners - Woodturning
